What happened to this cent?

    At first glance it looke like a dryer coin. Now I'm not sure. It looks more like a lamination, or plating bubble issue. Nothing pierced the copper plating, and the rim isn't banged up too much.     The discoloration near the rim makes it look like heat damage to the copper plating.
    Plating Bubbles would be in random spots not all around both side of the fields.
    Acid Bath would melt the Zinc interior first
    No laminatons on a 2011 Copper Plated Cent
    Parking Lot Cent would be scratches

    So you think heat damage? Maybe I'll put one in the microwave, er oven and see what happens. I don't see any scratches so it isn't parking lot/dryer damage.
