Is slabbed always better

I hate slabbed coins, i cant feel them as i would like to on hand. But i now only buy slabbed coins. Why ? i dont want to pay $200-300 and only to find later that these were indeed fakes. Look what terrible mess Chinese fakers have made.

I agree, with all the fakes out there, slabbed gives you some peace of mind.

 

Unless, of course, the slab is faked......buy from reputable and trusted dealers people. They stand behind their product........

 

I agree with the comment about fake coins. I use to collect pandas but haven't picked up a new one in awhile due to the ridiculous number of fakes out there. The value of a real panda have been driven down quite a bit on eBay because for older pandas there are 10 fakes for every real one. Everyone of these fake pandas sell too, it kills me. I would think people would become suspicious when they are buying a 05 panda for $23 but they still sell.

 

Sorry if I'm getting off topic, first forum I've ever joined.I just don't have any friends or family that collect coins and I enjoy talking about them. The point of my last post is I only buy pandas if they are slabbed now. I can tell a fake from a real but the the environment these fakes have created makes it difficult to move raw coins of certain types.

Yea, not many of us have friends or family who collect coins, that's why we come here. You chose wisley though.

 

This is a good forum to talk about coins in, and it takes the pressure off your family. : - ) Just know that there are may in the forum who speak bluntly and many who have odd senses of humor.

Cool, all sounds good. I use just be a stacker but can't seem to stay away from high dollar modern proof silver coins. Anyway, I'll be around and appreciate the warm welcome.
