That was a great, quality time activity to do, KUDO's. I'm glad you were able to get by beach patrol. I was metal detecting twice on the Outer Banks about 6 years ago and got a finger wagging twice in one day.

So desertgem, are you saying my grand-kids are green or they are errors?? ;) Or both. :p

Thanks to all, I feel better about tricking them!

About a hundred years ago, I used to have a lot of fun sending new recruits off to find a water knuckle. :p

A knuckle is air bubbles left behind when a submarine makes a sharp turn.
The bubbles can appear to sonar to be the submarine.

OH!!! OH!!! We do that too!!! Well not water knuckles but we'll ask the new kids to get ten yards of "flight line" or have them get air samples from the hangar which involves taking a trash bag and running around the hangar floor to fill it with air...it's all in good fun.

Was thinking about seeding a couple of rolls and taking them over to my nephew's house next summer. I got them penny books this year.

    Good fun for the kids.

Eons ago, in the grocery business I would send the new hires in search of the rutabaga waxer. Always fun to see what they came back with.

As far as football goes I am playing golf this weekend. Don't intend to waste a crisp autumn afternoon after that Saints giveaway to the Titans last Sunday. :banghead:

    What's wrong with Santa?

I saw him when I was a kid. He was wearing pajamas and carrying a bottle of beer....

About 30 years ago I set up a test plot in my backyard. I used it to test different coils and my machine before a hunt. I bought my son a machine when he was about 10 years old. He found my plot and dug up a Morgan. He was hooked on the hobby at that point. Only lasted a few years but we had fun until he figured out that girls were more fun. When he turned about 20 he told me he knew I had set him up. Still have that coin. Fun times.
