Is it just me or does this ancient coin look recarved? http://cgi.ebay.com/Thrace-Pantikap...oryZ4738QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Big time tooling there. From what I looked at of his other stuff the silver looks ok (can't really tool silver without it being really apparent). Some of his other bronzes appear to be smoothed & possibly tooled.
If it was a nice clean original it'd be fairly valuable. Even a fairly poor example would be worth more than the bidding's at so far. As it is now it's completely worthless junk. Unfortunately most coins from this area are hitting the market now with extensive tooling.
I'm still cruising the net for the perfect one at the right price. Hopefully someone will have one at a coin show I'm going to in 2 weeks.

No Problem I couldn't remember your budget. Par's gets nice stuff, but he's on the high end price wise most of the time.
Imperial had the ones I liked at the right price, but know they are gone... I would like to spend appox. $60
