Baltimore #14, Numidia, Micipsa

    These are really tough to find without one sort of problem or another. This one has scratches on the obverse, but I think they're ancient, as the patina covers them. Perhaps somebody was not happy with the king and gave his bust a piece of their mind? Still, you don't notice the scratches much in hand. It's a great portrait with excellent detail, and the reverse is nicely centered...

    I've yet to see an example of this type in great condition. I bought one from Warren Esty a couple of years ago, and it is in the usual condition.

    what a great coins how JA....and cool coins everyone.

    i've got one of these on the list as well.

    i didn't remember these as being that big, 26 mm and chunky....for some reason i was thinking they were little guys. that bumps them up my list!
