Hello ALL, Just in the mail, what a tiny coin, crazy coin, maybe no drachm, I need to check weight and so on. SELEUCID KINGDOM. Seleucus I Nicator (312-281 BC). AR drachm (16mm, 4.20 gm, 6h). Susa, ca. 296/5-281 BC. Laureate head of Zeus right ,Athena driving quadriga of elephants right? (I only see one), brandishing spear and holding shield; anchor above.
4.2g is a drachm. It's just struck on a flan of smaller diameter than typical. These are usually around 18mm, but the weight is correct - a bit on the higher side in fact.
oh yeah, cool reverse....nice anchor and elephants. a discernible elephant is always a keeper in my book.
