    "The crab cakes are delicious"

Agreed, however there's a lot of pretenders out there. My current favorites are PAPPAS and Kocos Pub.

"REALLY good back fin crab cake."

Lump crab cake is how I travel. Only lump.

Crab cakes used to be food for poor people. They'd take carb scraps then roll them in a ball with some inexpensive filler then fry'em. The crab cake was invented. Next came back fin cakes which I remember eating as a kid and now lump cakes. Somewhere along the way deep fried hard crabs came to be then after that crab imperial another heart stopper. Cardiologists gotta love deep fried hard crabs and crab imperial because of all the business they brought them.

I work in the city and I have to work (sometimes alone) in the worst parts at all hours of the night and day. I am tell you first hand that Baltimore is a dump! The city doesn't take care of any of its infrastructure, junkies run rampid and at any time you could be shot or robbed. I had my cell phone stolen out of my work truck a few months ago.

Taking Amtrak, I'm privy to some of the more pleasant spots in the city..........it's truly sad.

You guys crack me up...... I travel both Baltimore and DC inner city from the high dollar neighborhood's to ghetto and I've never had any issues . Well I am from South Baltimore and yes it's true we take no prisoners .
But if you know how to handle yourself you shouldn't have any issues. And handling one self doesn't have to mean fight...just being street savy.
A many a night I've have spent on my boat moored in the inner harbor .

And I may add I take No responsibility for the above post telling you about the ice cream.

Hey Ken Walmart sells it here like $4 something at whole foods it may cost you the better part of a 10 spot. Just a heads up....... and shame on you to doubt me on a food issue. Crab cakes I can show you the best, only thing better is a soft crab sandwich .

Paddy, I've never doubted your expertise in the field of food, as I know you have served long and well in the industry. I count myself lucky to have you as a mentor. :)

When I was a kid, visiting Pennsylvania, they had the most wonderful icecream when compared to what we had in NY............so creamy, so buttery. NY is blah.

Nada Ken I've been working steady since getting back from Texas. In fact I'm working tomorrow trying to catch up. I was on special projects then off to Austin Tx. Had a day off and it's been go since. Was asked to go to Ocean City NJ next weekend to handle another issue and I said no. I need some down time. I did pick up last Sunday two half dimes and another shield nickel.
