two yrs ago it came back in a slab as "genuine not gradable", so I crack it out and have been sitting in my desk drawer for the past two yrs. I decided to resubmit the coin again and it came back MS62. IMO it should have graded MS63. I have had seen a lot worse TPG MS63s.

By your 'spin' the coin should grade much higher.

code 95 is "Scratch" and it seems to have one above the left wing. I think they net graded it from 63 to 62 due to the scratch.
But don't go by me I'm still learning

I have seen a lot worse scratches on 63 coins out there. The reverse is scratch free.

Looks like a 63 to me. However, is it really worth the chance that they could "details" it again?

Another post showing just how consistent TPG's can be.

Looks like an MS64 to me, but kudos for being savvy enough to resubmit!

And people wonder why I never submit coins to TPG's! Betcha if you were one of their big $$$ customers you could of gotten a better grade.

Looks MS64 to me. I'd wait a couple more years and spin the roulette wheel again on that one.

Looks nice but Lib's cheek looks smoothed to me. Either thumbed or rubbed with a cloth.

I would say that it would be unlikely to get an upgrade. While it doesn't at all look rubbed or cleaned to me, I think that is what the TPG picked up when it was body bagged initially. They probably thought the cheek rub was cleaning--I don't see it that way. I'd NOT resubmit, as it could get killed again--be happy with it as a 62, as it is a beautiful coin.

Well, it isn't a 62--that we've established. That wasn't the point. The TPG called it altered surfaces--it may have been rubbed down. Whether or not it would grade more than 62 is not the issue--it is whether or not it would grade at all and not get killed off in a details slab.

    This coin is original.

You aren't getting the point--- it was not gradeable according to a reliable TPG. It was resubmitted, and it got a MS grade, after being body bagged. What exactly is the problem? I'd call it good luck.

The problem is that they got it wrong the first time.
