two yrs ago it came back in a slab as "genuine not gradable", so I crack it out and have been sitting in my desk drawer for the past two yrs. I decided to resubmit the coin again and it came back MS62. IMO it should have graded MS63. I have had seen a lot worse TPG MS63s.
code 95 is "Scratch" and it seems to have one above the left wing. I think they net graded it from 63 to 62 due to the scratch. But don't go by me I'm still learning
And people wonder why I never submit coins to TPG's! Betcha if you were one of their big $$$ customers you could of gotten a better grade.
I would say that it would be unlikely to get an upgrade. While it doesn't at all look rubbed or cleaned to me, I think that is what the TPG picked up when it was body bagged initially. They probably thought the cheek rub was cleaning--I don't see it that way. I'd NOT resubmit, as it could get killed again--be happy with it as a 62, as it is a beautiful coin.
Well, it isn't a 62--that we've established. That wasn't the point. The TPG called it altered surfaces--it may have been rubbed down. Whether or not it would grade more than 62 is not the issue--it is whether or not it would grade at all and not get killed off in a details slab.
You aren't getting the point--- it was not gradeable according to a reliable TPG. It was resubmitted, and it got a MS grade, after being body bagged. What exactly is the problem? I'd call it good luck.
