Any help would be appreciated, I can't seem to locate one anywhere online. The pictures came out really good so I think you can see most of the detail. I posted a picture with it next to a dime to show the size.
It's a Franklin mint piece, apparently it's sterling silver. http://www.ebay.com/itm/371478567438?rmvSB=true
Very few Franklin Mint pieces have additional numismatic value. The Sterling Silver is what makes this eBay item worth the $4.79.
True about Franklin mint items generally being worth melt. But for OP that medal is in no way worth the $4.79 that Ebay seller is asking because of the silver. Being that small it probably has less than a dollar in total melt value in silver. I just posted the Ebay link so you could identify what it was.
Without the purity and the weight of the medal, it's a guess all the way around. It did appear thicker than the dime next to it. I'm sure the current owner is trying to make a profit on it.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Franklin-Mi...oin-Set-of-36-Washington-Reagan-/272030328209 They weigh approx 1 gram each, we know the fineness as they are sterling .925 silver. So 1 gram of .925 silver, with silver at 14.79 per troy ounce there is .44 cents in silver in each mini medal.
