on a long trip to Cambodia and Thailand. Just got back to Bangkok from Siem Reap. While trolling the night market one night came across a guy with a bunch of "silver" coins. Picked up a Morgan and got a chuckle....1921-O. Shoulda bought it and made a fortune on a one of a kind! Lots of French fakes like I saw in Laos a few years ago along with some Peace dollars and other foreign stuff. I should have bought a few to bring home and photograph but didn't see the same booth again...too many booths selling stuff.
Wait... That's the ultra rare 1921 Morgan variety! In Philadelphia, they discovered a New Orleans punch and decided to use it on something like 5 coins. I've never heard the theory confirmed though.
Right now there is a 1944 steel cent up on ebay, starting bid is 2500, im thinking its a fake... any thoughts?

You probably are hijacking the thread lol. It's probably a plated coin. Seller has zero feedback. Crummy photos. If you had something really that rare you would have it slabbed for authenticity. I don't think anyone will bid on it. It's got all the warning signs.
but, but, but the surplus press, the overstrikes, the intent! Once the lines is crossed, you cant go back, and if it's good for one, it's certainly good for the other as well.
