I am old and my memory is not so good but isn't this about as late as the proof sets and maybe the mint sets have ever been released in a particular year. End of the year should be interesting .
Any word on the $1 coin set that has been mentioned? I believe this set will include the Presidential, Sacagawea, and some combination of ASE coins (unc, proof, ???). Thanks as always for ALL the information you provide us here.
With the annual proof (silver and clad) and uncirculated sets coming out so late in the year, the Mint will have a tough time re-tooling for the 2008 sets it seems to me. Last year the clad sets came out in March, the silver sets in May, and the mint sets in July leaving a decent amount of time to "tool up" for the next calendar year. This would seem like a VERY tight time frame to me. Just wondering out loud, but it seems to me, with all the distractions of the presidents coins, the state quarters, presidential wives, commemoratives, gold and silver both proof and uncirculated, bullion etc. that the mint is getting spread a little thin from a production viewpoint.
My fingers are crossed on the uncirculated buffalo fractional. Got to have a proof silver set if i make it myself
i agree with line_grade.. i think the mint is gettings itslef spread a wee-bit thin on all these additional coins AND keep up with current circulation demands... But this should aslo lead to some coins being pulled rather quickly as the 2006-w ASE did ... as ND86 mentioned... end of year will proove INTERESTING
Presidential Scheduled release dates. 2nd--Adams - May 18th 3rd--Jefferson - August 17th 4th--Madison - Nov 16th
Someone I know from the mint said there most likely will be Silver Presidents The 2008 Red Book has them already listed :thumb:
Yea..............The mint cant just whip out anything they want. First a bill needs to be sponsored and approved by Congress. There haven't been any bills that approve it, nor are there any bills in front of Congress.
