This is on the back of one of my 1955 coins - you know looking for the big DDO - but no luck there. This looks different - but is it anything good? Thanks
your best off stop looking there not in circulation the 1955 ddo type 1 fs 01-1955-101. has been soaked up by collectors , save your money up and buy one even if in low grade at least ... get it graded!!!
Well, thank you for your time. I looked through about 4K of the wheat Cents and have about 10 that looked interesting and those are the ones I am asking about. I came up with a few slanted/tilted mint marks, 1 broadstruck and a few with the "filled-In" or closed D's S's. It was fun but tiring going through all those pennies. Have a great day.
I don't agree with your statement. I'm sure there are still more to be found.. and they will be found!
The big DDO's are still out in the wild. I know personally somebody who in the last couple of years has found all three. 1955DDO, 1972DDO and the Highest graded 1969S DDO that sold for $126,500 at Heritage. All from Roll searching!
I have found the 1922 no mint mark cent and a three legged buffalo searching bags but if I found all three DD's in rolls from the bank I would either quit my job to roll search full time or go to Vegas!
All things considered, I'm not so sure implying this gentleman should buy raw to be sound advice. As things stand, if he wished to make such a purchase, I would respectfully urge him to only consider certified examples from a referenced dealer.
One hell of a trifecta, that is.. I would hope this gentleman spends an inordinate amount of time roll searching? Either way, incredible... simply incredible.
I'm sorry I was not implying that he should buy all coins. I was saying you should buy a graded coin even a low grade a coin as long as it's certified by ngC PCGS ICG or anacs
