What popular U.S. coins that you don't own?

I need an Standing Liberty quarter . ...I've have had several all like AG. But I need a nice one or all of the types for my type set. I just don't want to drop a lot of $ on them but a full head osteoporosis a lot of $$$. I was looking at one this passed Sunday at the show.

I don't own the HOF dollar and I don't want to have one

Okay, what I'd really like to add to my collection is a nice old copper coin like a half cent...

 

I still don't have a flowing hair half , 1795 will have to suffice in F or VF . Heck I collect Bust halves and need at least one .

 

@capthank If they're slabbed I'd leave them in a slab and store in an Intercept Shield slab box , desiccants are very important too . If raw I'll put them in an Intercept Shield 2 X 2 and store in a IS 2X2 box with desiccants . Copper coins worst enemies are sulfides and moisture in the air , if you lessen the amount of air and moisture your coins will be fine . Just try to make sure the coins you buy have no tiny carbon spots or fingerprints on them as they will always remain .

 

Clean surfaces will retone. Sometimes they highlight the deficiencies of the cleaning, sometimes the toning is really nice.

 

Thanks. I had some difficulty as my glass 30X reverses the image and I can only look at a very small section @ a time.

 

You sold off an 1895 Morgan proof for a kid and a house? Where are your priorities? Just kidding (I think).

At least you didn't have to pay property taxes on the Morgan.......

 

I had a 1916 SLQ for just a few days before sending it to my friend. I purchased it for him at a show. He had the money. I didn't and still don't

 

I like gold pieces, silver MS type coins,silver commems, better date dollars and pre 30's MS Buff nickels.

 

What's wrong with post-30 Buffalos...?

I like the better dates in the teen's and 20's.

 

I want a F-VF Fugio. Just haven't made it a priority. I guess it qualifies as popular and technically US

 

I don't own or plan to own any type of gold coin. To pretentious for me.

 

If you are talking in terms of "what popular type do you not own," then I have quite a few of them. I'm collecting by type.

If you are talking in terms of "what popular issues and/or key dates do you not own" then then answer would be "all of them." I don't own any key dates, with the exception of a marvelously toned 1815/2 EF Bust Half.

 

The one coin I really want and have never owned but will sometime is a nice large flan Pine Tree Shilling. Interests in certain coins come and go, but that one has stayed in my hopes.

 

Yeah I hear the pine tree. Picked up a holed small planchet out of a local estate. Price was right and bought if to resell. Want a nice large and small both myself. And still trying to talk a friend out of the oak tree shilling he found in a house he was taking down. One popular coin I never owned is a type 1 standing quarter. I like them so I'm looking for the right one. Ms 65 full head or better nailed strike and sexy toning.

 

The worst part is that it was originally my great grandfathers set. Ive been steadily putting it back together for fifteen years now but highly doubt that I'll ever own another 95. I do have a few Morgan proofs though including one of my top ten favorite coins, this very undergraded PCGS PR-64 CAM. Yes I've shown it several times before, but can't ever pass up the opportunity to show it again. It's just so purdy.
