HI. I can read Cleopatra and Antioch on this Greek coin that weighs 17 g. The Greek lettering is superb and clear. I only miss the exergue and your nice comments. CleoAnt O 001.jpg CleoAnt R 001.jpg

TIF seems one of the best at Greek types---hopefully, she'll be more informative.....

Did you win these at auction? I'm sure It would be helpful if you provided as much information as you can

It certainly appears to be a VERY attractive coin!!

Diameter is 27 millimeters. Of course , not at auction but rather installmently as usual. I bought it today along 2 other coins, including one I posted in reply a few hours ago. The latter seems to be of Artemis BMC 2. Are they really valuable. How far? The seller has many more but I can't afford. Thanks for your kind replies.

ANTIOXOY = "of Antiochus". Seleucids, Cleopatra Thea and Antiochus VIII, 125-121 BC, AR tetradrachm, Damascus (?) mint, year 192. You can find similar pieces here with the same date but different monograms below the throne.

It's a Damascus mint coin, and a die match to this one sold by CNG.

As some of you might know, I am not really into collecting Greek but seeing a bunch of coins like these lately almost makes me want to get one of these chunky silver Greek coins with a big head on it :D

Here's mine--I bought it from Henry Clay Lindgren before he died. What mint is it from? A reference number? Any additional info would be great! Thanks! CLEOIII_ANTIOCHUSVIII.jpg
