What do I have here?

I poured out a bin of 2 for $1 coins to look through and this looked interesting. It feels like silver, and weighs 3.31 gram. Is it something kind of token or a coin?

Yes. Ottoman Empire, Mahmud II ibn Abdul Hamid, 1808-1829, 30 para, mint Qustantiniya (Constantinople), there are two dates: AH 1223, the sultan's accession date, and "19" for the 19th year of the sultan's reign (AD 1817). KM 579.
