Picked this tiny beauty up a month ago or so, and it's been sitting on my desk for a while awaiting imaging. I thought I'd finally get around to it today and share: What's truly interesting about this coin is the die crack on the reverse underneath the emu to the rim. I am aware of a variety known as the "three legged emu" - but that die crack goes down on a diagonal to the rim, not horizontally. I'm curious if any of you have seen this before and know more about it? Thank you, and happy Halloween!
That's an interesting place for such a strong die crack, and good ones are popular with Aussie collectors. I see the same crack listed on ebay--but more worn--for a nice premium. They say it's a rare variety.
