I received an offer to take 26 issues (6 months) of Numismatic News for $14, with a bonus of two Washington State Quarters as part of this particular offer. Was wondering whether anyone had any opinions as to whether the price/value tradeoff was reasonable at that level. $14 for 26 issues seems OK, and that's less then I spend when I take one of the kids to IHOP... but I thought I'd ask.
Hello, I believe $14 is a bit too much for a publication that is mostly advetisements. There are a few interesting articles, each week, but most of it can be found online, for the price of your internet subscribtion. I just renewed my subscribtion, because I'm away from my computer so much, and I like to see what some of my favorite coin dealers have to offer. Good luck!
Ruben, that's not a phishing link. That is actually a link to Tom Michael's numismatic blog, which has 'Numismatic News' advertised on there. Aidan.
I would recommend not subscribing. Although there are a lot of ads, I don't have a problem with this. Most of the articles are verbatim repetitions of press releases (which I already know about from CoinTalk by the time I received the magazine), and there are very few in-depth articles about coins. Don't bother IMO
I sent an Emial to Dave a week or so ago .. he posted it in the letters to the editor ... i was complaining but he sent me a reply that he agreed, so.....
i agree. does anyone here ever renew their subscriptions at a mag renew site? i do and many times they have great prices. grizz
i dont, i usually wait unitl NN sends me a renwal notice .. when they do thst is usually when they offetr the best prices ... also i dont use the initial renewal notice.. i usally wait unti the 2nd.. possibly third
Thanks all. I will probably seek out the year for $25 offer at some point since that would be a better deal. I had the 6 months for $14 offer mailed to me and I already knew from non-coin mags that offers ranged all over the board. The Washington State Quarters didn't add a whole lot of value for me since only one goes in the "map" board that we're working on.
I think I should pick up a couple and read through them, I've been less than happy with coin world as of late.
