Hi i have a 1965 quarter i got in my change from a food place. It is in great condition and mostly no scratches and the words and date are very clear. Plus no mint mark. Does it contain some silver like 30%?
Over 1.8 billion of them were made and they were saved by the millions. They are very common in relatively high grades and is worth about half a can of soda if you can manage to find a 50c vending machine. Keep looking though, silver can still be found in change.
Has anyone ever noticed that some of the 65's have a ping that has a similar ring to it as silver I have come across a few but I dont remember where I put them, I set them to side to weigh never got around to it and cant find them. I know there is not suppose to be any silver in them but some sound like they do
There is a very remote possibility that the 1965 quarter was made of silver, which is an extremely valuable error, but I wouldn't waste my time checking 1965 quarters. You're definitely more likely to win a $1 million scratcher than get a 1965 silver quarter.
