Just wondering. With 2 months still to go in 2015, have you stayed inside your collecting budget for the year? I'm way over.
Yeah, more or less. Ask me at the end of the year So far this year, I've really only bought 3 major coins (and a few smaller items). I've probably spent more per coin than I ever have - but I've spent less overall than I have in a long time.
Yeah I haven't bought a lot for myself this year. Business been a bit slow. And I had other things I needed to spend money on. I been selling coins too so I've concentrated on coins to resell and not a lot for me. The ones I did buy for myself were rather expensive tho
Yes I have, I only pay $0.01 for each investment (In rolls of 50 each), and return the unwanted ones for fresh rolls I'm on the positive
I spent a good deal more than I planned, but the opportunities came up to buy a couple of collections and I couldn't turn them down. I paid too much, yes, but less than book I hope. Tried to be fair, but not to be stupid. It can be a difficult call. Esp since I am not a dealer and don't plan on selling my collection. So basically it's buy and hold. And hold. And hold. No realized gains. <shrugs> I'm not collecting to get wealthy!
I was doing ok with SLQ's and Peace dollars but then my like for gold hit and I went to the deep end. The current auctions and Baltimore should solidify a complete blown budget.
I spent more than I planned but not near as much as I could have (and wanted to). All in all I am pleased at what I got for the money.
I blew so far past my budget, that it takes the light from my budget a million years to reach me. (OK, maybe not that far.)
Over a bit. I am hooked on these Barber dimes. Found a nice unc. 1911 P. My pc is down so I'm not able to load pics.
I've never thought about a budget for coin collecting. If I did, I'd just go over so what's the point. If I see it, want it, need it or like it, I'm going to buy it.
Yeah I don't really have a budget. When i got extra money I'll buy coins when I don't I don't. And I'm hoping if my coin show is real good in a couple weeks I can find one more real good trade dollar this year. The 3 I liked at the Gardiner sale all brought more then I wanted to pay or could justify spending right now. Lower dollar coins (less then $500) for stock I never worry about budget or money for I just buy as I intend to resell them
I didn't really find much I wanted this year. I'll probably save it and blow it all at the Fun show in January.
