    A recent purchase and current favorite modern error in my collection.
    I present The Brain Ike...

    Was wondering if the detached piece is free wheeling in the slab or is it set??

    Markus, it is firmly set in the inner gasket ring.

    Its a silver proof and I have never sent it in because it would most likely come back Artificial toning although i received it in an old cardboard flip. There is pictures of it somewhere on this site.

    I see what you mean now that I looked at the larger pic. It does have that "pan fried" cooked look and the tpgs are always harsh on toned ikes
