You need better images taken out of the 2x2 for anyone to give you any information

That's a little better. I'm not familiar with these types of coins/tokens but I'm sure someone who is will be by shortly. The white spots on the specimen......is that erosion clear through the coin?

Not clear through the coin or close, just some erosion.

Can't tell you much because it is from the era before I collect, but in the mid 1600's England, Ireland, and Scotland suffered from sever coin shortages and the local communities or private businesses resorted to issuing their own tokens for local use. Limerick is a city I believe in Ireland, and since this coins refers to Butchers in the plural sense and has the arms of the Butchers Guild it may have been a token issued by the guild for use in the butchers shops in the city, or it may be a token issued by a business man named Butcher an using the guild sign as a word play on his name.

This shows the disadvantage of taking either pictures or sans thru the 2X2 plastic.

Take it out carefully, [I remove only one staple to the side] slide out coin, take picture, or scan, replace it and re-staple the 2X2.

easy, I do it all the time and just be careful
