If you are going by those dark areas between the wheats, the real VDB is in a different area. You have the coin in hand, look closely at Abe's shoulder for a VDB. If I were guessing, it would be a 1919-S

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

On a 1919, it is on the shoulder.

On a 1909, it is on the bottom of the reverse, in between the wheat stalks. They removed it part-way through 1909, and didn't restore Brenner's initials until several years later (and put them on the shoulder).

All that being said, I don't see initials in either location - and I'm not sure anyone will be able to. That cent is heavily corroded and very low grade - anyone who says they are seeing initials from these pictures will only be speculating and wishful thinking.

Probably a beat up 09-s is my feel date looks to wide spaced for 1919

    1918 to be specific.

I tried overlaying it with a 1909 of mine. The space between the 9's is too tight on the OP's coin. I am pretty sure it is a 1919.

Well, it's certainly a cull, whatever the date, and worth virtually nothing. Why do you want to know?

    But no seriously, it's a 1919-S
