Best whishes from a fast an complete recovery from Corsica where I spend some days with my family Hope a nice picture may help : alone and in peace on the Porto beach. Sure it would work fine for burns Q
Jeeze Pish sorry to hear about the hand injury...hope that gets right quick, but like some Spartan would say, "it is of no consequence, the gods have blessed you with a spare."
Pish, We miss you here, please get well soon!!! Oh, take Bing's advice and use the time to buy a new coin or two...I'm looking forward to seeing them posted on CT.
Recently got reminded of how bad getting lightly burned feels, can't imagine getting a serious burn. Well wishes and a good recovery Pish.
Well I get 10 out of 10 for sheer stupidity. I had a pan in the oven 350f and took it out and put it on the hob. Lit the burner and then used my hand to move it onto the flame. I KNEW I was in trouble. Ran it under cold water and then plunged my hand into a jug of vinegar. The vinegar heated up, so I put in an ice pack, that melted pretty quickly so I put in another one. Three hours later I decided I had to go to the emergency room. I got home many hours later at 1.15am, with a 7.30am appointment at the special burns unit. Good news is that no plastic surgery required. I have a big hole in one finger and the rest of the hand has interesting crinkly bits. I reckon that the vinegar saved me from a lot worse damage. I slept for about 24 hours and awoke to all your lovely wishes, thank you all, you really cheered me up.
Eeuugh...sounds painful! I wish you a speedy recovery. I had never heard about treating a burn with vinegar, I learn so much in this forum!
Vinegar is an old remedy. I wouldn't recommend it on open wounds, but it takes the heat out of burns. On a scale of 1 to 10, in vinegar pain was 0, as soon as it came out of vinegar it was 11.
Never knew about the vinegar on burns........I'd have just soaked everything in cold water.........glad to hear you're OK.
Fried fingers with vinegar ... mmmm Oh sorry, I forgot where I was for a second (my bad) Glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better, Pish
