Just ordered the entire set of alternative trade currency tokens from Daniel Carr. They are beautiful designs, and I really like them. Seller's pictures, as this was just ordered:
The Puma and that Indian though, by far the best pieces in the lot (In my humblest opinion). Nice pickup MD
Great looking set. Hard to choose a favorite design, but I think I like the man on the winged horse the best.
I bought three yesterday (not sets). It was tough choosing though. I picked the Indian Chief, Liberty with Winged horse and Liberty with Shield. Looking now I should have also picked the Puma.
Nice. The gold is out now too but my slush fund is a little frozen right now. I hope the big boy or full set last until it thaws out a little. Nice work with the new strikings dan! Nothing like a little work to take your mind off things
Nice pickup Morgan !! It's a beautiful set for sure .. My favorites without having them in hand would be the Bolt thrower & Liberty Puma.. I love the addition of the sun and rays to the Liberty Puma from its original design and the new reverse is gorgeous for all of them .. Enjoy your new set when it arrives ..
Those are cool looking alternate currency pieces. I have a few DC pieces, so I say this with good intentions: I wish these pieces had a tad bit more fine detail. For example: more intricate feathering on the wings of the Pegasus, more muscle definition on the horse, more facial contour on the indian head piece. My comments aren't meant to diminish DC's work, because I really like it.
I am not going to get this set slabbed by ANACS. I bought it last night, before reading the thread on Dan Carr's dad's passing. Since I am pretty good at woodworking, I am going to make a frame for the full set, with glass covering, and dedicate it to the memory of Wilfred Carr.
Without a doubt Morgandude these are beautiful tokens. I am curious though, are they silver ? what % ? How are they identified as Daniel Carr coins ? Dave
This should help. It looks like a D on the obverse and DC on the reverse. You can see what the composition of metal is. His logo also appears on the obverse field.
Beautiful coins. Love the Indian. To Daniel's credit, at least he didn't put a Pawnee headress on a Sioux Indian.......
Cool collection @Morgandude11 I hope you update after you build the case, I would like to see it. My favorite is the bottom one.
The case will take some time, as I intend it to be really nice--airtites inside of a nice frame. As soon as the set arrives, I will take some pictures.
These fantasy pieces are attractive. They are a far better use of his talents (and I'll agree, when he's making his own stuff, he's quite talented) than all those counterfeits he insists on making.
