Just ASE are over priced - Or at least the buyers pay way over price - I can buy the 2015's all day for 20$ FREE SHIPPING from Aydin Coins while the Ebayers pay 25$
EBay isn't the only place to find way overpriced toned Morgans. I saw a rainbow-toned Morgan worth $400 tops by grade go for $2,600 on a Heritage auction recently.
Junk silver, I don't understand it. They say "buy silver while it is low" but their prices are not low. I also don't understand those that bid so much over spot for it.
Yes. Junk Silver online is so overpriced, that in the end, it would be better to buy Silver Eagles at $20 a pop.
Especially when some of the silver roosies I have sold and mostly all in my Whitman book came from the bank. One came from the Coin Star reject bin.
Don't forget . . . there's an important distinction between prices assigned to coins by sellers before the sale, and bids driven up by competitive buyers.
I wouldn't call them overrated. I just think they're over priced. As you can see from my avatar, I do like them. I should have expanded on my original post. I wasn't necessarily referring to what are considered Monster Toners. Monster Toners bring strong money. IMO, it's the coins that show modest toning are the one's I consider over priced on eBay.
Wait question about this thread. Is this suppose to be overall stuff that is overpriced or people selling half dollars for $1000 when they're worth 50 cents.
I never went for toned Morgans. It seems that once toning became popular, and added to the price, toned Morgans started popping out of the woodwork, everywhere. How do you grade and value toning? I always preferred my silver coins to be silver colored.
I once saw a sale on Ebay that was a dollar bill and some common change amounting to something like $1.69. The seller had a huge price on it, and claimed to "know it was valuable" Uh-huh. And they let him have internet access in the mental institution, but no sharp objects.
