I have to look at it some more, and compare it to some pictures avaliable online, to be certain which die it is.
I believe this is the die. The die marker on the reverse is the small die chip (dot) at the top left of bay #11. It is not doubling like 1969 haha. It is extra thickness, and distortion on all outer devices. There is a separation line and notching on the date, IGWT, and Liberty just like the coppercoins pics. here is the link: http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1984&die_id=1984d1do001&die_state=lds
It also looks a lot like this one in Liberty and IGWT. : http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1984&die_id=1984d1do004&die_state=mds That's what I mean I need to study it. The mint mark positioning looks looks like die 1, liberty and IGWT look like die 4. All of these dies have a bulge to the SE on the 8, notching and extra thickness on the 4, and some separation or notching on the 9. I already have die #1, and die #2 in my collection.
If it's what you claim it to be, it's a shame the coin is worn as it makes the doubling difficult to see in these photos.
Yup.. I have 3 of them from 3 different dies for that year. One would be slab able if not for the big hit on truth. My first one I found had green and black rot all over it. The 1984's don't hold up well to circulation. They are fairly rare die #2 is URS 8.
I see extra thickness on the date...in the second coin. It's a drag how quickly these Zincolns disintegrate. And since zinc is as soft as pure copper, so they get banged up more quickly than bronze cents.
