I think that guy invented: "going viral." At one time half of the daily mail for Fort Worth was going to Mehl.

Ok! Here's a new store card I picked up and used as the subject of the Photoscape program that Green turned me on to.
Pics taken with my cell phone as it's all I have at the moment.
I know my pics still look like heck but please bear with me as this is a big step up from what I was doing before. 20151017_145459-crop-crop-horz.jpg

It sure sounds like him. Where has he been anyway?

@$ignofthedollar what program was that? I've got some backgrounds that need to be churched up a little bit.

    Circus Tokens Only !! TEC#4981

I to loved that program, When I switched to I Mac I was very disappointed to find that the round or circular crop wasn't available in the free version. Just checked the app store and it appears that it is now part of the free version. Being new to mac system at the time I was leery of paying the money for something that may have not worked. It is a great program, and can't wait to start using it again.

Here's a couple more tokens I picked up. I had to get the slave token cause I've been wanting one for my history collection but I just wasn't ready to pay a couple C notes for one so I got a beat up one. ;) s-l11910 Carlo600.jpg s-l1Corso600.jpg s-l1Sister600.jpg s-l1SisterRev600.jpg s-l123651600.jpg

The story I remember about the elephant tokens was the elephants were used because they were eye-catching and different.

Seems as though "Good for a pint" would have been even more eye-catching. :p

Ron_C, you are absolutely correct in your assumption (part of your quote I highlighted), however with that particular Liberty nickel the word 'CENTS' would give it away. When first minted in 1883 the 'CENTS' did NOT appear anywhere on the coin. Here's a link with a quick history of what is called the "Racketeer Nickel".

When I lived in NH I had a couple of friends that were going to Montana, so I asked them to bring back some Moose Drool. Not a bad brew and I still have one of the empty bottles. 001.JPG

That's why I thought it was so weird, it had cents on the coin and it was a worn 1903.

Got a new one in today from a old Detroit Michigan coin dealer. Kinda neat seeing that I'm originally from Michigan.
Anyone know any history behind this store card?
