Going Friday. I'll be looking for some nice 30's and 40's common date Washington Quarters in BU (not slabbed) for my raw set. Currently have all from 1948 - 1964

I go on Saturday on a club bus. I only collect ancients so this is not a problem for me but I am always amazed at the number of empty tables in the US section after about noon on Saturday. Rumor says it is really a wasteland on Sunday. If you go Saturday, I suggest going early and shopping fast. I hear that this is caused by the number of dealers whose main reason for going is trading with each other and the desire to save on hotels and transportation. Considering the cost to a dealer doing a big show far from home, this makes sense. I have not noticed empty tables in the Ancient/World section until much later in the afternoon. Has anyone experienced this situation and want to comment on the value of the show on Sunday? I wish I could go Friday but my situation is Saturday or not at all.

I can vouch for the observation that many dealers leave on Saturday, although very few leave before noontime. Many do plan to depart on Saturday afternoon to catch a reasonable flight home and spend Sunday with family before starting into the next work week.

I am going with my buddy on Friday and I am worn out after about 3 hours of looking. Bargain bin ancients are my focus, and I always come home with a pocket full of interesting coins. He collects US, mainly Morgan Dollars but has been expanding into Peace Dollars, High grade Walkers and Mercury Dimes.

You never know what you will find, and that is the thrill of the hunt.
