1972 double die???????

Markers are fine and dandy too (and are extensively shown in the link I posted earlier), but the doubling still needs to match, and in this case it simply doesn't. Taking the time to compare his coin to the known varieties would be a fine learning experience, and if he has any questions, of course he should ask, but this will not change the fact his coin is not any of the aforementioned varieties.

As for value, sure.... 104 is scarce, and due to the popularity of the 72 DDOs, has a demand that far, far outweighs it's significance, but has a following comprised mostly of variety specialists. On the other hand, 101 is very significant, and in fact is one of the most significant in the series, but is readily available, which drives down prices even with the added demand coming from those who do not specialize in varieties. If price to obtain a suitable example is one's only criteria for "significance", then you are correct, but most consider the individual variety's significance to be more important, regardless of price.

I agree with this and as stated if you go by price then the info is not correct. In many series the rarest coins are the most expensive and it is rarely the other way around. My comments are just my opinion and not an absolute. Part of the reason to post the other varieties I did was for the OP to learn something and maybe enspire him to further his knowledge as the hope of big money can do this.

After reading the comments and doing some research on Wexler's I think it might be a DDO-004. The reason I think this is because of some cudding I found on the rim near LIBERTY. I'm still skeptical though.
