    I think I've found 2 1973-D DDO's in a roll of halves, what do I have here?

    The first one:

    And the second one:

Looks to me like you found 2 strike-doubled 1973-Ds in one roll.

At first, the wear had me thinking MD but the split serifs of the S of TRUST lead me to say congrats, eagle eye!

The tail of the R in TRUST is clearly split on the first coin, possibly on the second. There are 6 different DDOs for 73-D listed in the CONECA listings, but their listings are text only, which may make it hard to figure out. I like DDO-003 and -004 for what you're showing.

The thing that concerns me about the right leg of the 'R', is even though it may show something at the end, neither of the 'legs portion'~ on each side of the visible seam of the leg are thick enough ( I recognize it is thin to start with) to be the last hubbing result. One side has to be at least the normal width, so I am leaning towards not.

I'd say yes, absolutely to both. I can see notching in the R and S in both. They do not have shelf like appearances and look consistent to a doubled die. They appear to me to be the FS-101 from the CPG. Congrats!!

bryantallard show me the money....so i can look through it

that first one is IDENTICAL to the one in the CPG. I can't be sure on the 2nd but the 1st one looks legit.

To me looks clear as day...two DDO in one roll. Nice finds! I've personally never found a 73 D DDO...so a bit of cherrypicker's envy over here. ;)

I see the notching in bot pics on the Tail of the R bot serifs of the S and the right serif of the T - sweet find

Both of your half dollars are the CONECA listed DDO-001, FS-50-1973D-101 (14.8). You can tell by looking at the bottom of the S in TRUST, and the doubling on the 1 of the date...nothing else like that in the listings (see attached photos of the DDO-001). An interesting thing with this doubled die is that the stage B (MDS) has a clash on the nose (see attached photo). James Wiles doesn’t mention that in the listings.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Clearly split serifs, strong doubling, and nice rounded secondary image.... I'd say you definitely hit the jackpot here. Nice pair of DDOs.
