This group will be an incredibly helpful bunch for you! I would suggest getting a acct.#s with NGC/PCGS(free) and possibly joining the ANA (40 bucks) to get access to their databases to research prices/photos so you don't get burned pricewise. The chinese are cranking out a lot of pretty good fakes now and have in the past too! Best of luck to you....

See those are the coins you need to stick with, safely outta my way with those higher denominations.

On that same note, did you see the AU-58 1878-S Trade that Gerry had?

Yeah. Was a nice one but I'm not looking for a 78-s in 58. More like 64-5 with color

Yeah. And like the real tough stuff like the 73 and 78 cc in au 73-s another tough date as in 75 p in business strike

Here are a few that I just got imaged by Robec

    1846-P NGC AU-55
    Trey_1846SLQ_AU55.jpg

    1847-P NGC AU-DT DDR
    Trey_1847SLQ_DDRau.jpg

    1858-P ANACS AU-58

    1874-S PCGS AU-55
    Trey_1874sSLQ_AU55_O3R4.jpg

I dont agree with that NGC Details grade on that 1847 DDR, they bagged it over the scratch above the eagles left wing. I think they scrutinized it too hard verifying it for the variety. It was previously in an ANACS AU-53 Holder

Ngc real picky about scratches. Pcgs not so much especially on toned over ones on early circulated stuff
