1982 small date copper lamination and double struck error?

    Just found a double struck 1982 lincoln cent with a large lamination error. The memorial is double struck and you can actually see two lincoln statues in the memorial from both strikings the second strike is about 30 degrees to the left

    Hi Mikey, sounds like an interesting coin but without pictures people can only guess and speculate.

    Brings back memories when we tripped at Kent State!!! The tall library was scary!!!

    Hi everyone, umm; please give me some time for pics. I figure I will post tommorow. yeah, there is a memorial double struck to the left with a huge lamination error around the reverse.

    There appears to be lettering behind the lamination in OF and the AM in America

    Part of a die clash maybe? I dont know; a huge double die? I mean the coin has no indentions but actual 3d detailing of a second memorial and lettering

    If you look closely in the second die or strike, you can see a second lincoln statue!

    Thats whats kind of strange; there is actual metal striking here though; does the mint use some sort of lamination substance?

    There is actual metal lamination error on this coin as well; you would really have to see it

    No, the copper is plated on the zinc-copper core.

    That's just one of those that ya gotta see in person...still don't get a good sense of what's goin on with the pics. Is the second Lincoln memorial incused or in relief?
