Have you seen the one that they had advertised on the coinweek magazine? That is exactly how I pictured they would come back in the day. A old small golden little jewelry box and inside of it was the Stella! Man what a treat that must have been to open that box up and see a Stella! Always such a intriguing gold piece. The curled hair was the one that amazed me and still does to this day!
I just read the article further. I think this was the coin in the magazine as it says it came in a neat little box.
If everyone on this forum sends me some money I'll buy it and share it with you sometime after I receive it.
Wow, I dodged a bullet with this one. I only collect business strikes. That's why I'm having such a tough time finding a 1856 FE If I understand correctly there IS a business strike 1856 FE. Snow-3 apparently should correctly be graded MS- rather than PF-.
Hey that's the one I'm going to bid on , guess we could go halvsies and cut her in two , or just keep her at my house .
Wow! If you can afford to put a bid on that, maybe I should ask you for a loan so I can find a decent place to buy. Ha, ha!
True by you will have a problem finding one graded MS. Maybe from NGC or one of the lesser services. If you get lucky you might find an older PCGS that has a MS. PCGS got so much flak for messing up the varieties and calling proofs MS and MS proofs that they decided to call all 1856 FE proofs whether they were proofs or MS.
