    Hi,

Im guessing this is a common error and a minor one. Im just not sure of the terminology for it. When i check through coins in the register i hold them between my index finger and thumb, examine a side, flip the coin and check the other side.

This penny was misaligned on the flip. It was actually the rim that initially caught my eye and brought me in for a 2nd look.

So what is this called, how common are they and how extreme of a misalignment can they be? Thanks for help/info

That is a Rotated Die. Slightly off.. maybe about 10° rotationwhich is a normal small tolerance for this occurrence. Usually rotations more than 15° - 20° rotationare more collectable. Yours is common.
I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.maddieclashes.com/rotated-die-error/

TJ.. I sent you a message on another thread..
Start your own unique thread with your own images and questions :wideyed:

Why do you keep piggybacking on other members threads? Your question is not even related to this coin in question from an older thread!

Another way for good pic is: hold your cent up to a mirror then take the pic, from the front towards the mirror, and cut your flash down, worked for me-----good luck
