I have been building a reference site for Fugio cents online, and today, catalogued and posted my personal collection online. Thought I'd share: http://www.fugiocents.org/collection/fugio-cents My goal is to build a modern registry of Fugio cents among early copper collectors to provide more accurate population data. More to come!
Nice, I have added it to my favorites. fugios have been a favorite coin of mine since I was a kid. I especially find the club ray varieties intriguing. I only have a few low grade or problem coins, so thanks for sharing yours.
I really like your Fugio group. Great idea for a site too. I have several Fugios and never get tired of the design.
The 8-X came back with a grade today. VF Details. No surprises with the scratch on the obverse. Still a great piece. Curious to see the PCGS pics on it- I tried the restoration service since it had so much green crud.
For those who may be interested in PCGS's Restoration Service, here's a quick before and after on the 8-X. These were the before pics. My big concern was the crud in the fissures on the reverse. Here is the after: It looks like they did a good job of getting the crud out and leaving a nice, consistent tone on the coin. I had this one restored more as a preventative measure than as a value adder. This is a piece that I plan to have the kids auction off when I'm gone, so I wanted to make sure the cancer didn't spread, if you catch what I mean.
