I remember several months ago someone talking about how to ship coins since the insurance doesn't cover coins. What is the best way to ship coins sold on Ebay to protect both buyer and seller. Thank you very much.
Only the seller/shipper needs protection. Buyers need no protection. If the item never arrives, or arrives damaged, they get a refund.
I use the USPS shipping provided through eBay with USPS insurance. I haven't experienced any problems with delivery at all.
I ship most things first class, no signature or insurance. Only need a signature over something like $750 now, and only need insurance to cover you as a seller. USPS should insure coins no problem if you decide to get it.
I use USPS ....I use first class shipping w/ tracking on all items under $100 and items over $100 i use flat rate Priority shipping.....I have sold thousands of items and the only problems i have ever had were items i sent without tracking....So make sure u use tracking all the time....And First class and Priority come automatic w/ tracking
I recently purchased a coin from out of country, and as I'm tracking it, I see there was an "attempt" to deliver in Ohio. I live in Texas!!!! I contacted USPS and they said the seller has to call the mail carrier that he used when he shipped it. They said there was nothing I could do. I attempted to contact the seller, but he did not respond. I'll be contacting ebay in the morning. Thank goodness for Ebay Money Back Guarantee.
I wouldn't be to worried. USPS tracking does that all the time. They aren't as efficient as they once were. I ordered something from Brooklyn one time and I am in NJ. It first had to make a couple trips to south Carolina and Maryland before finally coming back to NJ. They make mistakes all the time and miss ship something. I wouldn't be to worried about it unless it says "delivered" and you haven't gotten it yet
