I wonder if anybody will be naive enough to take a chance on getting a genuine 1909-S VDB from the Chinese. The only thing dumber than buying "genuine" U.S. coins from China is sending money to a "penpal" in Nigeria. http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-S-VDB-Linc...5QQihZ017QQcategoryZ39456QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Gopher29,don't forget that there's a lot of eBay scams that also originate in Indonesia as well.Corruption is a huge problem there, but Zimbabwe isn't far behind with their 2,000,000% inflation & rising. Aidan.
When his first words of discription are "I could refund you" then that should send up a red flag saying RIPOFF. I twould be a joke if it weren't for the bidders out there that do fall for these "bargain" fakes.
Look at another lot of "coins" he sold to a bidder who probably had no idea what they were buying. He calls them "beautiful brass coins". Its listed in his "feedback" area. Its the first item he sold. haha...they're video game tokens for the most part..lol....junk!! item#270113086847. The pic is too big to upload here.
You just get an automated email response thanking you for reporting the item and telling you that ebay will look into it. I just hope some new collector doesn't get taken by this scam.
Does anyone remember the Saturday Night Live sketch for "Bad Idea" jeans? It had a long list of gems.
Good! That saved somebody from being ripped off big time. I think there should be a "no tolerance" policy at Ebay. If you're reported once for listing counterfeit coins or currency then you should be totally banned from selling there again. Of course, this is only my opinion.
I don't think that would be good...what if someone just didn't know? IMO it should be that if you've listed 3 or more counterfeits than you should be banned.
