Nice Merc - MS 66 FBL Roosevelt looks MS 64

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

That Merc looks like a nice luster bomb. Interpreting your images, I'll bet its even nicer in hand - and it has a nice, original patina. PCGS didn't use the FB designation on that early slab (I don't think), but I don't think the middle lines are separated enough for me to call it that anyways. I'll go 67 on this one, as I don't really see anything holding it back.

The Roosie is a bit trickier. The thick toning hides the surfaces and impedes the luster, at least in your pictures. I'm not seeing a lot of marks, and the coin is attractive. I think this one is 66. It would be FT at PCGS, but not NGC.

PCGS doesn't have a star designation. The rattler is a very old holder, and during that period, NGC didn't have the designation either.

Hard to grade a toned coin. Toning covers the details on the coins and can't tell from a picture!

Grades posted. I think everyone will be shocked by the mercury and yes physics-fan3.14 it is a complete Luster bomb in hand.

That's condition-wise at least three points better. Market grading lets them play mind games. The polish lines on the reverse and the toned spots on the rims probably did that one in. There's nothing else. There are two MS67s on Heritage, right now. This one's technically right in there at high gem.
