The coin will get a grade but unfortunately may also get "damaged" on the slab. although, its so small. trust me, I did not want to ruin the coin; thats how small it is. This coin will be highly sought after once slabbed
Check out my latest pics here; thats with the small sample test taken; still a beautiful coin with a nick in it
I have seen quite a few plated cents; maybe 8; I always want to check them for enthusiasm and I was astonished when I saw this one; guaranteed off metal
the condition of the coin is still quite pristine compared to other lincolns with wear and too many nicks
Look at this off metal striking from malaysia; they say the rarity is great and it seems to be similiar to my coin http://dniewcollectors.blogspot.com/2014/12/off-metal-strike-error-on-1982-cent.html
The fact that Malaysia struck an off metal coin isn't relevant. No, last date I find for foreign coin production at the US mint was 1980. Frankly the thread has now devolved to the point when the forum won't believe it isn't plated until it is certified as an off metal strike, and the OP won't believe it is plated no matter what the forum says. So it has reached the point where there s nothing to be gained by further discussion. If the OP really believes it is an offmetal the next step is to spend the money and have it certified.
