i was reading my may 7 issue of CW and saw an article that i think is worth reading. it is on page 14 under the guest commentary section. troy thoreson writes a great article on the acceptance of the new washington dollar and how the design is slowing the publics usage of the coin. please check it out,i think you may agree with him, i know i do. grizz
I like the dollar coins and I dislike paper dollars. So I've been spending a lot of the dollar coins. But everty time I see one, this is what I think of: http://www.sg-news.com/archives/a_00007.html
I like the dollar coin and use it a lot. The reason is that I buy a lot of soda pop out of vending machines. IF the machine takes dollar coins, the transaction is usually as smooth as glass. I've had many frustrating episodes trying to get these machines to take dollar bills. Usually I end up punching and kicking the dang thing and once even tossed one face down into the middle of a parking lot. Yes, I have anger management issues.
I think the coin is a myth, and in reality does not even exist. I've never seen one. Bank doesn't have them, never seen one in a store cash register, even the local coin dealer didn't have a single one.
