image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Hey everyone! Had a question regarding this coin. Not so much the doubling, but around the date there is, what appears to be, blistering kind of like what we see on more recent cents. Would this just be contamination with image.jpeg image.jpeg the planchets that were used? Thanks!!

If you are comparing the blisters to the more current Plating Blisters found on the Copper Plated Zinc Cents then no. It's 2 different things going on. IMO Your 1957 is just a deteriorated die that just caused that mess of doubling and blister like features.
