My recent buying spree is in its last few days---and then that dang wagon thing---and I have successfully purchased a variety of coins in a variety of grades and metals ranging from Greek types, scarce Emperors and very cool upgrades of my LRB's . The first LRB I will post is a perfect example, since the details are so vivid and pronounced---on the obverses of each coin---and the reverses a bit 'ordinary'....contrary to my usual preferences. With the possible exception of the first (It went a tad higher than expected with a last minute flurry of counter bids), all were easily affordable in any budget. All are attributed and purchased from HHC, but I will refrain from including that 'data' for now. Constantine I (The Great), Constantine II, Licinius I and Victorinus:
Nice LRBs Mikey Zee! Makes me want to go buy some more myself. One of the best niches in the ancient hobby imo. Great coins with lots of detail, at reasonable if not down right cheap prices.
Sweet!! => those are four great new additions, Mikey-Z (congrats) Hmmm, I do have Constantine I & II examples, but they aren't exactly similar to your new winners ... (they're merely campgates) Oh, but I do have Licinius and Victorinus examples that are kinda in the ol' ball-park ... wanna see 'em? Licinius-I Victorinus
ahahaha *whatev* => okay, but you asked for it , my coin-friend!! The Great!! One of The Great's Nasty Kids
In many ways, I do too, He sure looks like a 'fat-boy' on that coin--perhaps he was constantly taunted as a child and decided to be a warrior to show them all up?? Just a 'theory', as Steve always seems to say
sweet indeed MZ, i always keep an eye out for some nice LRB. here are some of the classic LRB types i've got this year, most are respectable if not sweet. constantine ii valentinian i constantine i honorius constantine ii again
I feel like I don't bring out my Licinius (Licini?) enough, especially the "newer" of the two. So in the spirit of Mikey Zee's original post here they are with no attributions (it totally has nothing to do with me being too lazy to look it up...).:
Love those Licinii, Jwt..... And, I'm NOT at all lazy...Well, maybe a tad. OK, Ok, I'm the poster-boy of lazy at this point in my life. LOL Football begins.....and so off-line I go.
Beautiful coins, Mikey - I had them on my watch list, but I was not bidding last night. I'm glad they went to you! Mikey - check your PM.
