E-Bay 1-Liners

I thought it would be interesting to hear your best E-bay "pickup lines". These are one or two sentences that are supposed to get us to buy the stuff.

I'll give my favorite three:

1. These coins (usually wheaties or silver dimes, quarters) were found at an estate sale - they've been sitting in an attic for decades.

Yeah, well so have everyone else's wheaties!!! What's so special about a dead person's coins?

2. I don't know anything about coin collecting, but a friend of mine has entrusted me to sell his $20,000 coin collection. I'll be selling these lots over the next few weeks. But I don't know anything about this, so.....

3. Here's my 1852 MS-70 Silver Dollar. I'll start bidding at $12,000. Sorry about the fuzzy, out-of-focus pictures, I can't take a picture for the life of me.......

Ha! I think the USA could save a lot of money on the Witness Protection program. Just hide these people under all those piles of unsearched wheaties on e-bay!!! No one would ever find them

Indianhead beat me to the punch... How can they know that they're all wheat cents if they are unsearched???

I guess what they mean is unsearched by them, and even still they say unsearched when in order to sort them they had to be searched by someone!!!

Exactly!!!! There are no unsearched wheat cents for sale anywhere IMHO. If you do happen to run into a lot of true unsearched wheaties, you're a very lucky person and I'd like to shake your hand and buy you a drink. Otherwise its alot of BS. No one in their right mind is going to advertise rolls or lots of wheaties for sale without searching them themselves. There are too many valuable key and semi keys to let go for a little bit of nothing. The only chance anybody would have had to get truly unsearched wheaties would have probably been back in the 1940s and 50s when you could still get full rolls of them at the bank for 50 cents. Even then I would say that there would still be that chance that some collector had already searched them. Unsearched Wheaties....gone with the dinosaurs!!!

There are SO many good lines out there. I've always liked(?) the estate sale BS.
I don't know anything about coins is also a favorite when one sells nothing but coins but how about this oldie but goodie.

"I've been diagnosed with (fill in your disease) and HAVE to sell my coin collection." Makes me feel bad for those that really ARE ailing.
