I'm wondering if anyone can help me to determine whether this 1776 Fugio coin is real or reproduction?
It is quite heavy and appears to be made of pewter. It shows considerable wear.
    Thanks!

It's Continental Currency, not a Fugio. As to if it's real, it's doubtful. They were struck in pewter, but are quite rare.

    First, welcome.
Second, I doubt that the coin is genuine.
Look at the lettering. It appears to be 'mushy' and it probably a sign that it is a copy.
    Good luck.

Welcome aboard, cointam. The soapy colour gives it away as being a real dud.

This is not authentic. The details are light, and the color is incorrect, compared to a genuine coin and other obvious signs of a counterfeit, most notably casting bubbles.
