I reacently picked up a 1921 morgan from a seconds bucket at a coin shop. It was ugly but had som very fine detail. when i got home i noticed the one and united were doubled on the reverce and there is a die break and dots on the obverse. My question is since this coin is dirty, crud in some of the details and denticles. is it worth cleaning a little. also where would be the best place to hae a variety attributed/

Bonedigger is correct - never clean the coin, or it wil KILL any value it might have. Welcome to the forum
Welcome to the forum!!! Anytime you have a question about a coin it is best, if at all possible, to post a picture if you want accurate opinions. I also agree with what the other guys said already, dont clean the coin, any coins for that matter. It drops the value a great deal, even in the lowest grades.
i was sure cleaning it was out. I will try to get a pic for tomorrow and post it so you can take a look.
Sounds to me like it's a VAM variety that could possibly be attributed with some pictures. The 1921 Morgans are known to have raised dots on certain varieties. I would not clean the coin at all.
