I've put a few of my collections into Dansco albums using the anticorrosive slip covers Dansco sells with them. Do I have anything to worry about from the coins reacting to the pages within the album itself?
I like the Air-Tite holders and albums, but they can become a little expensive for large sets. I've also read that Littleton will be upgrading their albums to use paper that is lignum and alum free and will designated as "archive quality" once this happens. Their current albums use acid-free paper and non-PVC plastic for the sliders. Intercept is another album to look at, but a few dealers are no longer providing them as they appear to not be keeping up with new coins. This information is from online dealers I have looked at.
I'm using Intercept Shield 2x2s for much of my collection, especially the sets that have a large proportion of uncirculated pieces. But since all of this needs to fit in a safe that's 5' x 2' x 2', space is a serious issue for me, which is why I like the Dansco albums. The Intercept Shield albums look very interesting, but they don't cover some of the collections I have.
I generally put things I don't want toned into airtites. But over time I've learned to accept the toning and it doesn't bother me much anymore.
I've been waiting for Intercept to come up with the type set album like the Dansco 7070. Other than that I think Intercept albums are available for many collections.
