1909-S V.D.B. Real/Fake??

    That is Position #4, the lowest and least-tilted of the 4. It looks appropriate in your slab images, so between that and PCGS' involvement we'll assume it's a righteous coin. PCGS makes mistakes sometimes but I can't see them letting a fake 1909-S VDB through.

    When it comes to my submissions they don't make any mistakes in my favor you can bet the farm on that.

    ROFL. I feel your pain. :)

    I do expect any professional grader to know the S VDB well enough to know those pickups, which is why I'm unworried even with the photographic evidence above. Even a slight angle away from vertical in a macro image can introduce distortions wrongly capable of causing doubt.
