In my case,it was the 2007 15 Euros silver Proof medal-coin from Ireland, which commemorates Ivan Mestrovic.

Fingers crossed,I'll probably get a reply for reporting the Kelatanese Dinar gold coin.

    Yes,I posted links with photos.

If you have a coin that has never been listed in Krause, you can report it at Tom.Michael@fwpubs.com .Let's get the Krause catalogues fixed up so that they are accurate.

Such new issues as the Mestrovic coin (not a medal) will probably be known to the publishing house anyway, but pointing them out cannot hurt either. In such cases, cross references (like "also see the Croatian piece issued on that occasion") are nice to have in a catalog ...

Once in a while I "report" a mistake in a Schön catalog (World, Euro, German ...) But that is because the main author Gerhard Schön actively participates in a few German language coin forums, so it is rather a casual conversation than an error report.

Christian,Krause already know about the Treaty of Rome commemorative 2 Euros anyway.I can guess that one of their Euro-Zone contacts had reported them.

I've lost count of the missing coins and errors I've reported to Krause over the years. Generally if one of my reports checks out (especially when I provide a picture of the coin), the correction shows up in the next edition (unless it's past deadline for changes in which case it shows up a year later.

I believe they are really serious about correcting errors.

Since there are few, if any, real coins listed there, it's not surprising that there would be a lot of errors. Everything in that volume is based on Colin Bruce's opinions about fantasies, and that's not likely to engender a lot of certainty and agreement.

You will find that all the Marshall Islands medal-coins will now be listed in 'Unusual World Coins' as from this year's edition.

    Aiden:
I really appreciated your description: "medal-coins"
Since they are only for collectors, and never circulate, especially in their country.

I successfully reported some new medal-coins from Hutt River along with the Kelantanese AH1427 (2006) gold 1 Dinar. These will be listed in the next edition of Krause's 'Unusual World Coins' catalogue.

Krause's unusual world coinage is disappointing. What should be strictly medals are reported as "medal-coins" which is obviously wrong. Some private issues are even starting to appear which aren't minted by the official mints.

Gxseries, the smaller-denominated coins from Hutt River are actually used as currency there,so they're coins, not medals.

I mentioned nothing about Hutt River. What I am talking specifically is the Russian section which I am more familiar with. Pretty much half of that section can kiss goodbye.

Gxseries, are you referring to those pieces that supposedly come from such places as Kaliningrad & Spitzbergen?

I've reported dozens of new things to UNUSUAL WORLD COINS. They are doing their best to include everything, from official mint medal-coins to unofficial historical, pseudoetat micronational issues, bullion coins, and fictional fantasies. They included about ten pages worth of stuff that I reported, and even listed me as a special contributor on the title page.
