You are right. That would be the best thing to do.
When I buy something and think the shipping is to high. I wonder if I can buy it somewhere else for a lower total cost. If I can't I may except the higher shipping if the total cost is less.

In this case Ebay charges are based on the total sale.

You know the total cost (including the shipping part) when you bid or purchase. You have NO complaint regards anyone else for your own actions.

That's not the point at all. Ebay has been coming down hard on sellers who charge outrageous shipping, regardless of whether "you know it" or not.

Here's one of the "5-star" questions:
"How reasonable were the shipping and handling charges? * * * * *"

Ebay did not ask whether you knew the total in advance, they asked if it was
REASONABLE, which in this case, most people would answer NO. Whether they went ahead anyhow is immaterial. If the stamp is ultra-cheap and the shipping is excessive, many people (including me) go ahead and buy. But the seller will get, at best, 3 out of 5 stars.

Ebay also holds the seller responsible to get it there safely and to be able to prove it. This is not free.

Since you don't have the SLIGHTEST idea how I package or protect or ship, I hope you're NEVER my customer. I didn't get a perfect 100% Feedback well over 2200 by screwing people. You maybe think I dropped the coin in an envelope, stuck a stamp in the corner, and pitched it in the mailbox. You don't know JACK about my business, and let's keep it that way.

Would you be willing to share your Ebay sellername? I don't wish to do business with someone of your temperment.
