Originally I was going to to describe this coin and see if anyone could tell me what it is but then I thought, hey, I don't want it anyway so why not make a contest out of it. The first person that can post a picture of the coin I describe, same year or not, can have it if they want it. That's the contest. While searching through a bag of 50 dollars in cents I came across a very worn copper coin the size of a U.S. cent. I'm not sure it is a U.S. cent because I can't make out any of the writing. On the reverse, it has a large number 1 with a visible date of 1860 underneath. The outter edge is some sort of flora tied at the bottom with some kind of string or ribbon. The "branches" don't meet at the top of the coin similar to the wheat shafts on the back of a lincoln cent coin. No other detail is present. The obverse looks like it might have some sort of bird with spread out wings and words all or part of the way around the rim. Possible letters are "ICHIS" near what I'm guessing is about the 5 o'clock position of the face. Not much else is visible. Any guesses?
I guess you were first dopeuser. If you want it, PM me an address and I'll pop it in the mail. I don't know if it has any value but if you want it, it's yours. Thanks for playing.
gotta luv them easy contests hehe its great to have so many people willing to spread around what they have... even if its of no use to them... 1 mans trash could be another mans treasure... lets home dopeuser finds it a treasure
Sorry, kept meaning to say 'THANKS!' for this one, I got this a while ago, I keep putting it off, so before I forget again, THANKS!
